The SHIFT Family

Our Founder and CEO

Picture
 Corrina Levine Jackson, MSM
 SHIFT CEO

Corrina Levine Jackson is a dedicated advocate for maternal and child health, committed to reducing infant mortality and improving maternal outcomes. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she has over 25 years of experience advancing community health initiatives and addressing disparities in care. As the founder and CEO of Supporting Healthy Initiatives For Tulsa (SHIFT), Jackson leads Tulsa’s federally funded Healthy Start program, which provides vital resources to pregnant individuals and families.

Through SHIFT, she ensures access to prenatal and postpartum care coordination, parenting education, fatherhood support, and essential services such as transportation and housing.
Jackson’s commitment to maternal health began in 1992 when she contributed to Tulsa’s first initiative to reduce infant mortality. She played a key role in developing an evidence-based model that became the foundation of Tulsa’s Healthy Start programs. Her leadership shaped the success of the Save Our Babies program in 1997 and continued through her tenure at the Tulsa Health Department and the Community Service Council, where she managed Healthy Start programs for more than two decades. Under Jackson’s guidance, Tulsa’s Healthy Start program has achieved remarkable milestones, including a reported zero infant mortality rate among program participants over a four-year period. Her work is particularly focused on addressing health inequities, notably the disproportionate maternal mortality rates affecting Black women in Oklahoma, which remain more than three times higher than their white counterparts.

Beyond her local impact, Jackson serves as Treasurer of the National Healthy Start Association, where she chairs the Finance Committee and contributes her expertise to national strategies aimed at advancing maternal and child health.
Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership Management from Southern Nazarene University. Her personal experiences—including receiving support from the local Urban League as a single mother—have deepened her commitment to community service and strengthened her resolve to ensure that all families have access to the resources they need for healthy pregnancies and births.

Through her leadership at SHIFT and her contributions to the National Healthy Start Association, Corrina Jackson continues to be a driving force in the fight against maternal and infant health disparities, advocating for equitable care and support for families in Tulsa and beyond.
